Liberty Travel sends over one million people on vacation each year. Their expertise is evident from the moment you click on the homepage. The Liberty Travel website offers more search capabilities than any other service we reviewed-giving you the ability to search cruises, read travel articles and check out informative destination information.

Though competitive and informative, we felt Liberty Travel didn't offer all the booking conveniences that our Gold and Silver ranked services include.

Ease of Use:  

When it comes to ease of use, Liberty Travel is ranked with the best due to their attractive, easy–to–navigate website. At Liberty Travel, they believe part of the fun should be planning your vacation—this becomes apparent as you sail through the different vacation package plans with ease.

When you're ready to book a cruise, Liberty Travel makes the process a cinch with user–friendly information fields and a window that displays your vacation package details; you may make changes as you go.

Feature Set:  

The Liberty Travel website presents a wealth of information about the Caribbean and cruises. This site has an entire section titled “About Cruising” that is dedicated to making the first–time passenger feel like an old pro. This section has information ranging from how to pack, to tips on tipping, to cruising with kids.

Liberty Travel makes port of call information easy to access—simply choose a destination, then choose a port of call from the map. Each port of call webpage includes plenty of important facts that can help you feel at home, even on the most remote island.

For all excursion information, Liberty Travel refers you to a company called Shore Trips. We were disappointed to learn that you must register with Shore Trips in order to browse through excursions online. This is an inconvenience; other services offer their own trip excursion information.

Search Capabilities:  

The search capabilities of Liberty Travel set this website apart. You're sure to find the ideal cruise with a basic search, an advanced search or the sort option. The basic search seeks out vacation packages by destination, length of cruise, date and cruise line. The advanced search uses these classifications plus the ship name, departure port and price range. The sort option compares your cruise choices by price, special offers, ship rating and length of cruise.

Similarly, information search tools help you find particulars on cruising and ports of call.

Ease of Booking:  

The booking process on Liberty Travel is user–friendly and efficient, allowing you to select your date of departure, view your itinerary and book your flight all on the same page. Though the booking page doesn't have cabin layouts or deck maps, it includes links to this information.

Help/Support:  

Liberty Travel offers an extensive help section with email support, a FAQs page and a toll–free number. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We were also impressed with the extensive information Liberty Travel offered on visas, passports, currency, even international driving permits. Most of this helpful information is essential for foreign travelers, yet few travel service sites offer detailed information about such things.
