The universal travel site Travelocity is our second–ranked service and “TopTenREVIEWS Silver Award Winner.” This is one of few service sites we reviewed that offers convenient reservation bookings for every part of your vacation—whether you're looking for rental cars, hotels or flights to accompany your cruise vacation package—Travelocity has it all.

Travelocity.com is a well–designed website that's easy to navigate, and customer support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The only features Travelocity lacked that our Gold Award Winner offered were online visual tours of the Caribbean (photographs, webcams and video).

Ease of Use:  

Both the first-time traveler and the seasoned veteran will feel at home at Travelocity. Easy–to–follow links and large maps allow you to point and click exactly where you want to go, and Travelocity will take you there. Another convenience is the cruise tools box that appears on the right side of all of the pages for quick access to FAQs, customer service and a variety of ways to find and sort cruises.

Travelocity takes you through the booking process one step at time, replacing long, boring forms with field boxes and convenient drop–down menus.

Feature Set:  

Travelocity offers all of the must-have features, such as a low price guarantee, insurance information, specials and itinerary maps. However, Travelocity falls short on little extras that add excitement to the planning experience—like webcams on ships, streaming video at port stops, detailed information on shopping, weather, and other important facts. Travelocity's information was a bit brief and left us wanting more.

Search Capabilities:  

Travelocity offers superb search options; the menu bar lets you search cruises by destination, cruise line, length of cruise, price, date, destination, top deals and (one of our favorites) last minute deals for those of you who forgot that this weekend is your anniversary.

After you select an option from the menu bar, you receive information on your choice and can begin sorting cruises. This is a simple task with the graphics and maps and general descriptions. Once you have narrowed your search, you can compare cruises and select the one that fits your wish list.

Ease of Booking:  

This is the category that earned Travelocity a top rank on our site. The ability to book flights, hotels and rental cars along with your cruise makes the entire planning process much more convenient. After you select your departure city, Travelocity gives you a choice of airlines and flights. Travelocity acts as a full travel agency, providing you with an all–encompassing itinerary that details your entire schedule and leaves you with no gaps or questions.

We were also impressed that Travelocity includes a traveler's rating and a star rating, so you can peruse the opinions of fellow travelers as well as travel experts to form an unbiased opinion of the service. We agree with the travelers; Travelocity offers top–quality service.

Help/Support:  

At any given time, you may call customer service toll–free and talk to a live customer service representative; this will put the biggest worriers at ease. Travelocity also offers email support, an extensive FAQs page, Spanish language assistance and overseas U.S. phone numbers.

Summary:  

Travelocity has a booking system that surpasses most. You can truly book all of your travel reservations from a single site, start to finish. This travel service website has a more personable, one–on–one feeling that creates confidence when booking a cruise online. And the friendly Travelocity customer service representatives are there for you, 24/7.
